MTB Kingston Reopens May 22 and Hosts Drive Through Tag Pick-up May 23 from 10 am to 2 pm

Due to the continuing success of Ontario’s vaccine rollout and the collective efforts of Ontarians (in following public health and workplace safety measures to date) effective May 22, 2021 at 12:01 a.m. the province will reopen outdoor recreational amenities with restrictions in place which includes the need to maintain physical distancing.

Recreational amenities include, but are not limited to, golf courses and driving ranges, soccer and other sports fields, tennis and basketball courts, and skate parks. No outdoor sports or recreational classes are permitted.

Outdoor limits for social gatherings, and organized public events, will be expanded to five people which will allow these amenities to be used for up to five people with members of different households. All other public health and workplace safety measures under the provincewide emergency brake will remain in effect.

As further clarity is so often required of these announcements, here is a link to the amendment of legislation announced yesterday.

With all social distancing and masking requirements in the parking area still in place, MTB Kingston will open on Saturday, May 22!

On that note, we are happy to announce that we will be holding our Tag Pick-up Drive-Through event, at The Farm, this Sunday, from 1000-1400. Please stay in your cars and do not crowd around the volunteers handing out tags. Those who plan to ride, please park after receiving your tags and wear a mask and maintain social distancing when in the parking area.

If you haven’t yet, click here to purchase your 2021 MTB Kingston Membership.

For returning members who have already renewed online, you may ride with your orange 2020 tag until June 5.

If you are unable to attend our tag pick-up event 2021 tags will be available via our community partners after the dates listed. All are currently open, under occupancy restrictions, and have instructions posted on their doors. Call before entering if you are unsure.

All the best,

TRAIL UPDATES!

Mid-way up “Beer Me” will now pass through two gates that will need to be kept closed. All returning trail dogs will need to be leashed before the first gate. This will undoubtedly have an effect on Strava times, and solidify the current QOM and KOM recipients for some time to come.

New Section!
Elmer Fudd, a 2 km in and out trail with 2-way traffic.

Happy Trails!
