It’s with a heavy heart (and not enough whisky) that we announce the impending closure of part of what is perhaps our most beloved trail, the western end of The Ridge. This property is marked by the two cattle gates midway through the loop and was sold to a developer with grand plans late in 2017.
The new landowners have been gracious enough to allow us to continue the status quo until this point. Having informed us today, they have also conceded to allow us to remain until the completion of the Substance Projects XC Marathon: Kingston Trophy on Saturday. At which point, it will close to allow for land clearing for future development.
For those not racing, we will be hosting Friday Night Lights at 8 pm, and you can bet we’ll be riding The Ridge. Whether you’re racing or night riding, please take the time to pay homage to this incredible trail.
